Dear Santa....staying safe this Christmas
The safety of everyone in the community of Bath is of upmost importance to all members of the Student Community Partnership. Water safety is at the forefront of many of our minds right now, as we remember those who we have sadly lost in recent times.
The River Avon is not the only stretch of water to have claimed the life of a member of our community in 2016. In February of this year, we were saddened to hear of the passing of Louis Harris, a student of Bath Spa University, who is thought to have tragically drowned after a night out in Dorchester.
Louis' family are backed a major charity campaign earlier this month, which set out to reach more people than ever with its vital Don’t Drink and Drown message. The Royal Life Saving Society UK campaign warned drinkers to act responsibly near water after they have been drinking – and to make sure they and their friends avoid walking home near bodies of water. Last year 20 per cent of all adult accidental drowning victims had alcohol in their bloodstream.

Louis' parents have shared this useful poster highlighting the effect different levels of alcohol consumption can have on you. As we approach the main festive period, spare a thought for those who we have lost, and take a moment to read this information.
